Official Competition Schedule Announced for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026

The Da Nang City People’s Committee and the organizing units have just announced the schedule for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026. The event will take place with many major changes, featuring 10 international fireworks teams participating. Fireworks in Da Nang have become a standout summer event that attracts many tourists.

Taking place from May 30 to July 11, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 (DIFF 2026) will have the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons – Connecting Horizons.”

10 Teams Participating in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026

The DIFF 2026 fireworks festival is identified as an international cultural-tourism event that stimulates travel and services during the peak summer season.

The highlight of DIFF 2026 is the large-scale competition with the participation of 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries and territories, including Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau (China), and Australia. This year there are 4 teams participating in DIFF for the first time.

The host country Vietnam contributes two representatives: the Da Nang Fireworks Team and the Z21 Vina Pyrotech Team.

DIFF 2026 will take place over 6 competition nights, with each night having its own theme, but they are connected in a unified narrative about the development journey of Da Nang and its integration with Quang Nam (formerly).

The themes successively explore the city’s core values — from nature, heritage, culture, to creativity and vision — concluding with the final night “Da Nang – United Horizons – Connecting Horizons.”

The DIFF 2025 fireworks festival

This year, the appearance of two major players in the fireworks industry from Macau (China) and Japan will help make DIFF 2026 more competitive and exciting.

The team that wins the championship this year will receive a prize of 20,000 USD, a trophy, and a certificate. The runner-up team will receive 10,000 USD, a trophy, and a certificate.

The number of additional prizes includes:

Most Popular Team (chosen by audience vote) — 5,000 USD and a certificate
Creativity Award — 5,000 USD and a certificate
Prospective Award — 5,000 USD and a certificate

DIFF 2026 applies Sky AR technology, allowing viewers to directly interact with the fireworks sky and personalize the experience on their own devices.

The LED Laser system projects light onto the surface of the Han River and the buildings on both banks, transforming the festival space into a multidimensional stage, while real-time sound technology helps the audience fully enjoy the music synchronized with the fireworks regardless of where they are in the event area.

Series of Events Taking Place Alongside the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival

Not only is it a series of fireworks nights, but DIFF 2026 is also the nucleus of a long summer festival season with many cultural, artistic, sports, and entertainment activities organized to accompany the event throughout its duration.

It is expected that Da Nang City will host many large-scale companion activities with diverse and attractive content and high interaction with the festival.

Some standout companion festivals include River Fest, Beer Fest, and a series of experiences within the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem, turning the entire city into a continuous experiential space.

Da Nang also offers many exploration suggestions for tourists on days without fireworks shows. Sun World Ba Na Hills will organize programs during this time such as beer festivals, special art performances, evening entertainment activities, and the European-style architectural space amid the clouds and sky.

Additionally, familiar but always new journeys like strolling on My Khe Beach at sunrise, exploring Son Tra Peninsula, visiting the My Son Sanctuary, and immersing in the cultural flow of Hoi An Ancient Town are suggested.

Official Schedule of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026

Opening Night of DIFF 2026 with the theme “Nature” will take place on May 30 with a match between the host Da Nang Fireworks Team, Vietnam and the China Team.
Night 2 (June 6) with the theme “Heritage” will be between the France Team and the Z121 Vina Pyrotech Team, Vietnam.
Night 3 (June 13) with the theme “Culture” will feature the newcomer Japan Team and the experienced Italy Fireworks Team competing.
Night 4 (June 20) with the theme “Creativity” will be between the Germany Team and Macau (China).
Night 5 (June 20) with the theme “Vision” will feature the Australia Team and the Portugal Team.
Final Night will take place on July 11, with the main theme “Da Nang – United Horizons – Connecting Horizons.”
