In the highland province of Lam Dong, Peach Blossom Valley (former Mộng Đào Nguyên) has a breathtaking forest of cherry-like apricot blossoms – known locally as “pink blossoms”, a scenic area on the outskirts of Da Lat. During this peak bloom season, the display of hundreds of blossoms is expected to continue through the end of January.

Cherry Blossoms make Peach Blossom Valley attractive
Located on the slopes of Lang Biang Mountain, about 15–18 kilometers from Da Lat city center, this region sits more than 1,000 meters above sea level amid pine forest and native vegetation. The forest here is dotted with tall, naturally grown cherry-like apricot trees, which burst into delicate pink flowers at this time of year, creating a stunning contrast against the ever-green backdrop of the highlands.
Photographer Sam Sam, a local who has explored Da Lat’s blossom spots every year, shared that he visited Peach Blossom Valley in early January and was struck by how early this year’s blossoms have opened. Compared to previous years, the flowers are more abundant, more evenly spread, and the pink hue appears deeper and more vibrant than before. It was, he said, the most spectacular bloom he has seen in two years.

Many of the old cherry-like apricot trees in the valley are now at their most beautiful stage – branches thickly covered in blossoms with few leaves visible. Travelers find the pleasant early-year weather in Da Lat ideal for sightseeing: mild, sunny days with daytime temperatures hovering comfortably in the 20–25°C range help visitors enjoy the picturesque scenery.
Since 2020, Peach Blossom Valley has gained popularity among tourists seeking vivid floral photographs or simply wishing to experience the springtime ambiance in the highlands. Each year, visitors from across Vietnam – and increasingly from abroad – make the journey to take in the majestic pink canopy.
Best Time and Tips for Viewing Blossoms
Local guides and photographers recommend that the best time to capture the blossoms on camera or to enjoy the scene in peace is early in the morning, especially before 9 a.m., when the sunlight is gentle and slanted. In that soft light, the flower petals and tree trunks show more dimensional contrast, with a balance of light and shadow that highlights the texture and color of the blooms.
Many visitors wake before dawn and set off from Da Lat city as early as 6 a.m., eager to catch these magical morning moments. For some, the 15- to 18-kilometer drive is challenging due to steep terrain and rough, rocky roads. Yet locals have turned this into a practical experience by offering Jeep transfers from the foot of the mountain, usually priced around VND 100,000 for a round trip, allowing visitors to enjoy the trip without worrying about the difficult climb.
Despite the rough paths, the journey rewards travelers with a serene environment, where clusters of blossoms weave through coffee and tea farms, wind around natural pine forests, and pulse with the quiet life of the highland ecosystem.

What to Expect at the Cherry Blossom Forest
Aside from towering, mature cherry-like apricot trees, Peach Blossom Valley also boasts many young trees aged three to five years. These saplings produce dense clusters of flowers, adding to the allure of this blossoming panorama. The trees typically have five thin, rounded petals on each flower. When newly opened, the blossoms are a deep, rosy pink; as they age, their color gently lightens, creating a soft spectrum of pink across the forest. Each bloom cycle lasts approximately two to three weeks, though this can vary depending on weather conditions and temperature.
According to multiple travel reports about Da Lat’s cherry-like apricot blossom season, these flowers generally bloom from late December through early February, marking the transition toward spring and creating a symbol of renewal and beauty for the highland city.

How to Get There
Travelers leaving from the center of Da Lat typically follow Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street toward Lang Biang Eco-Tourism Area. At the Lang Biang roundabout, they turn left onto 19/5 Road and continue for several kilometers before heading right onto a dirt trail that leads up the mountain. The final portion of the route is a challenging stretch of steep, red clay road, best suited to vehicles with good ground clearance or to local Jeep transfers.
Apart from the blossoms, visitors can combine their trip with excursions to Lang Biang Mountain Tourist Area, Dankia Lake, and traditional K’Ho ethnic villages nestled in the surrounding hills, offering a richer cultural and natural experience.

Spring Festival Celebrations
Each January, Da Lat also hosts a Cherry Blossom Festival that typically runs from mid-January to early February, celebrating the beauty of the season. During the festival, visitors can enjoy cultural performances, interactive tourism experiences, and maps of the best cherry-blossom viewing spots – all designed to showcase how deeply these flowers are now woven into the region’s identity and its welcoming spring atmosphere.
